Production Technician - On & Offsite
Job Description
Turning Star is hiring technicians to process fabric and drapes in our shop and on site. This position will be trained and will lead to the ability to operate independently on site.
Requirements
- Able to learn quickly
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently without direction
- Positive attitude
- Fluent English
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Work at heights of 25 feet or more in a single personnel lift
- Clean driver license: no more than one infraction in the prior 4 years
- Able to travel within the United States with notice
- Some extended OT days and weekends are required, seasonally
- Familiar with basic tools
The technician will perform the following duties:
- Load soft goods (drapes and fabric) onto lines for cleaning
- Inventory soft goods, collecting dimensions and quantities for each project
- Inspect soft goods for defects and damages
- Assist with cleaning and vacuuming soft goods
- Pack soft goods prior to shipment
- Receive packages and deliveries
- Prepare packages for shipping
- Load and offload delivery vans and trucks (manually or using forklift)
- Assist in the daily maintenance of the physical condition of warehouse
- Occasional delivery & pick up of client goods and work materials, using company van
- Load work van with supplies for use for the next day
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed
- With training, the technician will work toward the following additional duties:
- Equipment operation and maintenance (including, but not limited to, sprayers, vacuums, chemical area, tenter frame, pumps)
- Study for and obtain C-15 certification
- Test and certify fabrics
- Treat and certify fabrics
- Visit customers’ location independently to conduct testing and treatment services
- Visit customers’ location to perform walk through to obtain quantities, dimensions and other pertinent information for proper pricing and scheduling of jobs
- Assist with training new hires when capable, as necessary
